Last time, I was eager to enjoy the "reverse scam" at Komeda Coffee, but I was intimidated by the staff’s warning that "a big one is coming..." and ended up ordering the mini size.
As a result, the mini size was just right, leaving me thoroughly chilled and extremely satisfied.
However...
When it comes to Komeda Coffee, it’s all about the surprising size, right? And although the kids chose lemon over blue Hawaii last time, I still want them to try the blue Hawaii. So, let’s do a rematch! This decision came just three days after the last shaved ice experience.
A Surprising Menu Update for the Rematch

I last visited on July 23rd, and now it’s July 26th. What happened in these three days? The tropical shaved ice is suddenly front and center on the menu, but it wasn’t there three days ago, right?
Apparently, a campaign to win a trip to Hawaii started on July 24th, and the tropical shaved ice seems to be part of that promotion. In Hawaii, shaved ice (often called shave ice) in rainbow colors is famous.

Note: The campaign entry period was from July 24th to August 2nd and has ended.
Unanimous Decision: Tropical Shaved Ice with Soft Serve
The kids, who were singing "Blue Hawaii" while entering the store, immediately changed their minds when they saw the tropical shaved ice, so we ordered it. And somehow, they also managed to get me to order Komeda’s fried chicken (Komechiki).
Arrival: The Second Reverse Scam of the Season

The gold bowl... no, it’s more like a tub... is huge. The kids are at peak excitement, and I couldn’t help but exclaim in surprise.

Primary Color Shaved Ice—A Candidate for a Science Project?!
While you shouldn’t play with food, this could honestly be considered for a science project.
The primary colors—red, blue, and yellow—can be mixed to create various colors. Red and blue make purple, yellow and blue make green, white (ice) and red make pink, and so on.
It was wonderful to share this with the kids as we talked about the beautiful mixed colors while eating.
The Saviors We Ordered Earlier Have Arrived: Komeda’s Fried Chicken (Komechiki)
This was an excellent order. The sweet and salty, cold and warm, mild and strong flavors of these two dishes complement each other perfectly, making them endlessly enjoyable. I highly recommend this combination.
A Rest That Feels Like Doping, but Still...
With more than half of the summer break already over, I’m starting to feel the exhaustion. I wonder how many more times I’ll be "doping" with shaved ice this year.
To all the parents and guardians across the country, let’s hang in there! And how about taking a break with Komeda Coffee’s shaved ice and Komechiki?
