Beer, the ultimate companion to survive the hot summer. As I continue my daily quest for the perfect brew, today I’d like to introduce a highly recommended craft beer.
This time, I’ll be reviewing the "HUB Supervised Craft Beer Pale Ale," produced by Kizakura Brewery. This limited-edition beer is overseen by the popular British-style pub, HUB.
Kizakura Brewery’s HUB Supervised Craft Beer Pale Ale

When it comes to HUB, it’s widely loved as an authentic pub where you can experience a taste of Britain while staying in Japan. Founded in 1980, HUB now operates over 100 locations nationwide, making it a key player in Japan’s beer culture.
So, when I heard there was a canned beer supervised by HUB, I simply couldn’t resist picking one up as a beer enthusiast!
Starting on July 30, 2024, "HUB Supervised Craft Beer Pale Ale" has been available exclusively at 7-Eleven, and I made sure to grab one right away!

With such a popular establishment overseeing its creation, my expectations were high even before taking my first sip. HUB had previously released a supervised gin and tonic, and this pale ale marks their second collaboration.
The beer has a low alcohol content of 3%, which is quite surprising, as pale ales typically range between 4–5%. This lower alcohol content really caught me off guard.
As for the taste, the lower alcohol gives it a lighter, more refreshing character. The hop bitterness and aroma are subtle, making it an easy-drinking beer that doesn’t overwhelm the palate. The bitterness isn’t strong, so it tastes quite similar to what many would consider “regular” beer.
Compared to American Pale Ales or India Pale Ales brewed using similar methods, this one may feel a bit underwhelming for some. However, for quenching your thirst on a hot summer day, this lighter flavor might be just what you need. Its crisp and refreshing taste makes it easy to drink two or three cans without feeling too heavy.
Enjoying the HUB Atmosphere at Home
HUB is also famous for being a great spot to watch sports. With 2024 being an Olympic year, recreating that "HUB vibe" at home could be a fun way to enjoy the games.
The light, crisp flavor of this pale ale pairs perfectly with fried foods, especially the British favorite, fish and chips. It also goes great with snack foods, making it an ideal choice for a casual night in.
So why not stock up on "HUB Supervised Craft Beer Pale Ale," grab some snacks, and host your own sports-watching night at home?
