This heat can only be conquered by drinking beer! After a long, sweaty day, your throat deserves a reward. As I continue my daily quest for delicious beer, I’ve found the perfect one for summer.
Today, I’m introducing you to OH! LA! HO BEER’s "Bière de Raiden Seasonal Brew – Summer Weizen." It's a long name for a perfect, refreshing summer Weizen.
OH! LA! HO BEER’s Bière de Raiden Seasonal Brew – Summer Weizen

I’ve featured OH! LA! HO BEER a few times before. This craft beer brewery is based in Tōmi City, Nagano Prefecture, and "Olaho" is a dialect term meaning "we" or "ours." Since its start as a local brewery in 1996, they’ve produced many delicious beers.
Personally, I love the design of their cans. Whether it's the "Amber Ale" or the "Nouvelle Saison," with its silver can and playful font, their stylish and distinctive cans really stand out on the shelves.
Today’s spotlight is on the summer version of their seasonal series: the "Bière de Raiden Seasonal Brew – Summer Weizen."

This mouthful of a name—"Bière de Raiden Seasonal Brew – Summer Weizen"—has an alcohol content of 5%. Its IBU (International Bitterness Units) is quite low at just 11, making it more sweet than bitter and giving it a smooth, mild flavor.

As per the concept of "a beer that feels comfortable in the midsummer heat and still tantalizes your taste buds," this Weizen, or wheat beer, offers a wonderfully fruity flavor true to its style.
When it comes to summer beers, we often crave something crisp and dry. But the mellow richness of a beer like this might actually suit your summer-worn palate better.
A Summer-Only Beer Paired with Summer-Only Foods!
The fruity notes of this Weizen go perfectly with light seafood dishes. If you’re having a BBQ, pairing it with seafood like shrimp or scallops is highly recommended.
It may be a bit unconventional, but I also think it pairs well with soba noodles. The sharpness of wasabi and the smoothness of the Weizen could be a delightful summer treat!
