There's a rumor going around that BEER STAND SORACHI is trying to get you to drink as soon as you arrive in Sapporo. This beer stand lets you easily enjoy “SORACHI 1984,” a beer made exclusively with the legendary “Sorachi Ace” hops, which Sapporo Beer developed in Japan over 35 years.
How immediate is “immediately,” you ask? Well, as soon as you step off the train, it’s right there—no wandering, no hesitation. I stopped by and indulged without delay.
Instant Beer in the Heart of Sapporo Station!

Look at that shine!! The fine texture of the foam!! I couldn’t help but admire it, but let’s drink it while it’s still fresh and beautiful.
SORACHI offers a refreshing herbal aroma reminiscent of lemongrass, with a lingering finish. Even though it’s a generous pour, you find yourself thinking, “Did I really drink this much already?”
Compared to typical draft beers, it’s much more floral and fruity. It’s highly recommended even for those who usually shy away from beer due to its bitterness. It’s astonishingly smooth and easy to drink.

All four taps, of course, serve only “SORACHI 1984.” Their sleek appearance almost exudes a sense of dignity.
The beer is poured into a chilled aluminum cup with expert precision, which makes it all the more delicious.
By the way, you can take this aluminum cup home. It’s a great souvenir to remember your stop by BEER STAND SORACHI.
“Kita no Okaki” with Furano Onions Is the Perfect Snack

For those who like a little something to nibble on while drinking, “Kita no Okaki” is the perfect match. You can choose between two flavors: Okhotsk Salt and Furano Onion.
I was torn between the two, but when I asked the staff for their recommendation, they immediately suggested the onion flavor.
Other “Local” Offerings

To my surprise, the snack menu is quite extensive. It caters both to those who want a light snack and those looking for something distinctly Hokkaido.
On the day I visited, they also recommended smoked herring roe. I mean, it’s got to be delicious, right? I wish I had more time to try some of the canned delicacies too.
Zero Seconds from Sapporo Station! Enjoy a Quick Beer Before You Even Leave the Premises!

As soon as you step down to the ticket gate floor from the platform, it’s right there—almost shockingly close. The counter, in an L-shape, takes up about as much space as a KIOSK, with room for about five people on each side.
If you’re arriving or departing, you can stop by directly; otherwise, you’ll need to purchase an admission ticket (200 yen) to enter. Payment is cashless only, but a wide range of payment methods are accepted.
BEER STAND SORACHI is perfect for both the start and end of your journey in Sapporo. It’s a casual yet elegant place to enjoy beer and snacks, so why not stop by?
